Step 1

Visit Cookiebot Signup to sign up for Cookiebot, or go to Cookiebot Login to log in if you have already registered.

Step 2

Add Your Domain

Under the Domains tab, click the + sign >

Add your domain, then click save.

Note: If you change your domain, you need to repeat this step with the new domain.

Step 3

Configure the Banner Settings

You can configure the banner settings under the Dialog tab. Just make sure that the mode is set to explicit to be GDPR compliant.

You can also change the region(countries) where the cookie banner is shown here. Just scroll to the bottom and change the setting under Distribution.

Note: This is a premium feature. Make sure you save the changes after you made one.

Step 4

Cookiebot Domain Group ID

You need a Cookiebot Domain Group ID to set up Cookiebot. The ID generated here is only valid for the domain it is created for, meaning that you need a separate ID for each domain you have.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that all the information here is correct as you will get an error notification when you use a different Domain Group ID, change the domain, or try to use the same setup for a different domain.

Step 5

Scan Domain

Click the Cookies tab at the top.

and click Scan Domain Now.

Step 6

Check the Consent Report

You can check the consent report under User Consents after a couple of days.

GTM Container Actions

Learn to download a GDPR-enabled Google Tag Manager (GTM) container and import it to your GTM account. This tutorial will provide step-by-step instructions on how to do so, helping you to improve the GDPR compliance of your website.

Step 1

Open the Analyzify App

Open the Analyzify app in Shopify's "Apps" section.

Step 2

Select “Do It Yourself Method”

Select “Do It Yourself Method”, and complete the onboarding phase.

Step 3

Fill out the Onboarding Form

If you have not filled out the onboarding form, start by doing so. Then, go to step "5 - Setup Method" and turn on the GDPR switch.

Step 4

Restart your Setup if Needed

If you have already completed all the steps before and seeing the dashboard, you can restart the process by clicking the “Click here to restart your setup” link.

Step 5

Proceed to the Setup Phase

Complete the steps until step 4. In step 4, click the “Download My GTM Container(GDPR enabled)” button to download your GTM container.

Step 6

Import your GTM Container

Complete the remaining steps to import your GDPR-enabled GTM container to your GTM account.

Note

In Analyzify versions 3.2 and above, if you choose Cookiebot during Onboarding, the Shopify Customer Privacy API script will automatically be injected into your theme file, and no action is required. In previous versions a code snippet was manually added in a new snippet file or directly to theme.liquid. If you are using an older version and are upgrading from a setup before version 3.2, please contact us.
